Created in 1957, this beautiful Saarinen Tulip Table envelopes the thought and theory behind one of the 20th century's great architects. Constructed of cast aluminum, the Saarinen table flows from top to bottom and from side to side. Saarinen used a variety of bases and tops for various interiors during his career. The Saarinen table shown here is a favorite as it can be used in a variety of spaces but is most commonly used as a dining or conference table.

Eero Saarinen was born in Finland in 1910 and moved with his parents to the United States in 1923.  He studies architecture and design at Yale University and soon after worked for his father, Eliel.  Eliel was one of the founders of the famed Cranbrook Academy of Art.  The influence of his father, Cranbrook, and other people he met at Cranbrook would have a lasting influence on Saarinen’s design philosophy.
